But, if in a fit condition you have nothing to fear.Mehta, a holistic health teacher explained, "The truth is that if you live a healthy and active lifestyle and if you have normal cholesterol levels, eating 3-4 eggs a week will not cause interference. Saturated animal fats and transfats found in processed foods clearly is the enemy of man. "Digestion and consumption of healthy foods rich in fiber helps maintain a constant level of cholesterol in the bloodstream. But this rate can change or increases with age, a diet high in saturated fats and bad lifestyle."A diet high in polyunsaturated fat and fiber helps lower blood cholesterol levels while diets high in meat, cream, full cream dairy products and white flour tend to increase the amount of cholesterol in the blood that increases the risk of heart disease," said Mehta.

Good and Bad Cholesterol

A common question that is often asked is how to increase the good cholesterol known as HDL (high density lipoprotein) and how to reduce bad cholesterol known as LDL (low-density lipoprotein)? Apparently this can be done by increasing the intake of fruits, green vegetables, broccoli, peppers and other vegetables high in fiber.For that, it is also suggested that increasing oil consumption has beneficial effects on your health. For example, high in omega-3 oils can be found in soy beans, walnuts, fish oil, flaxseed oil and olive oil are useful in increasing HDL.Limiting intake of foods containing saturated fats from red meat, cheese, cream, high-fat dairy, junk food and processed foods also need to reduce LDL or bad cholesterol.
